Checking Trailer Tongue Weight

by Bob
(Wilmington, De)

In order to check the tongue weight for my trailer I use a Fish Scale, which can measure up to at least 60 pounds. With the ten percent rule I don’t think my combined weight will be more than 600 pounds. The advantage of the fish scale is that it doesn’t take up much room when packed in the trailer, and as we travel you can check the tongue weight when you want. Keep in mind that things get shifted around so the trailer and all your items are not the same as when you left, and I have never come home with less than I started out with.

Side comment - Mike it looks good and I have more to read on your site. Best Bob
