When you're riding for the long haul, motorcycle accessories can make a pleasant ride into a fantastic ride.

Check out some of the motorcycle accessories you can get for your bike. Everything from electronic gear to cup holders. Some are just nice to have, others I wouldn't do without. Let's take a minute to go through some of the ones that are more of a necessity.

If I were prioritizing things into what was the most important I would have to say a cup holder, yes a cup holder. If you are out on a long haul putting in 100 to 200 miles before stopping in 90 plus degree heat, you can get very dehydrated without even knowing it till you get off the bike and try to stand. It is very critical that you stay hydrated while riding that I put this at the top of the list. It can be anything from a fancy cup holder to bungee cord to hold a plastic bottle. As long as you have some fluids to drink while you ride.

Communication devices are another great thing to have. Intercom between riders and a CB radio can add a great deal of safety to your ride. You can talk between bikes while riding in a group so that you can manage your ride as you go. An intercom can provide your co-rider with a means to help out while riding. Providing you with an extra set of eyes for traffic etc.

Electronic gear such as GPS navigation, MP3 players, radio, CD's offer a cutting edge technology to your bike and provide information and entertainment as you cruise. All can be mounted with controls at your fingertips and wired to provide information and music through speakers either on your bike or in your helmet. Bluetooth is also an upcoming feature. Helmets are being wired for Bluetooth communications and GPS's have the same capabilities in some models.

Saddle bags, luggage racks and trailers. We all know when we travel we have to bring our "stuff". If you are travelling light or bringing the entire wardrobe, you still have to manage your extra things. We've ridden with folks that mail their items ahead and then mail them home, to those who pull a camping trailer with electrical brakes that houses everything right down to the air conditioner! Either way you do it is fine, so what are all the options?

Okay, so I can't leave out the fun type motorcycle accessories. If you just want to add some chrome pieces, you'll have to get past one obsticle. Seems like every time I want to put something on the bike I get "that look". Just kidding Judy really loves to dress up the bike. So what chrome pieces do you want to install on your bike?

Now that you have all that chrome, let people see it by lighting it up! Colored lighting strategically placed can make your bike come alive during the night time and what Judy and I have found is the best thing, putting a big smile on a kids face.

You can find some great sites like J&P Cycles® - Motorcycle Parts and Accessories that will have all this and more! Yeah there are so many fun things we can add to our bikes that the list goes on and on. So dress up your bike with the motorcycle accessories you like and show it off on our site
