Did you ever wonder what type of motorcycle clothing you'll need to get?

We did. There are so many types of motorcycle clothing on the market from leather, mesh, to ones that have body armor in them, trying to decide what to wear can be confusing. Let us show you what we've learned to help you choose what's right for you.

Mesh clothing is a type of textile motorcycle clothing that can keep you cooler while providing protection through its removable armor. The clothing is made from an abrasion resistant material that's tougher than leather, and they come in an array of colors. The versatility of the clothing is enhanced by accessories such as cold weather and rain liners. We'll detail this line of clothing and how to size and choose what's right for you.

Leathers are commonly used during cold weather and with the addition of thermal liners; they can be worn down below freezing. Another option that's becoming more popular is textile-based motorcycle clothing that is waterproof and has thermal liners as well. This type of gear can be found in electrically heated apparel for very cold rides. All these along with accessories such as chaps and long underwear are things that we'll sort out for you. Let's talk about getting the perfect cold weather gear for those cold rides.

In hot weather textile and mesh are the best. Leather can only be bearable up to about 80 degrees. Most people will strip down to t-shirts, tank tops, shorts and sneakers. We do not advocate any of this. Taking a page out of safety, "if you don't want it when you go down, don't cover it". So our belief is that even in hot weather, cover up and protect yourself in case you go down. Here are some tricks to staying cool on those unbearable days.

Your hands should be protected as well. There are all sorts of gloves from leather to textile and mesh. Some have armor and gel pads. The newest is cold weather gloves that can be heated. There are waterproof inserts for gloves to keep your hands dry during rainy rides. We'll explain all about your options here.

Boots are mostly made from leather and the best will have steel inserts and comfortable linings. All should be over the ankle for support and protection while being comfortable off the bike as well. We'll look at the construction of the boots and what to look for in both men's and women's styles. The comfort of your feet is the most important, so not only do you need to protect them from a fall, you need to keep them dry. A good leather boot that's waterproof is what you're looking for.

We are not here to dictate the use and non use of helmets, that's for you to decide. We will however go over the different types of helmets and what to look for when purchasing them. Trying a helmet on before you buy is a must. There are all different shapes on the market and you won't know if it fits right til it's on your head. We'll look at the different helmets, how they fit and what to look for. There are also accessories such as eyewear and visors to take into account. So let's get this all sorted out so you can ride safely and in style.

Jackets come in all materials. They're designed to provide maximum protection in a fall. There are all different makes and models, from touring jackets to the classic leather, we can touch on most of the motorcycle clothing for you.
