Think a motorcycle touring trailer will lessen the enjoyment of your trip?

Think again, towing a motorcycle touring trailer offers you more comfort and less hassles and you don't even know you're pulling it. Trailers, for some reason, bring to mind that the bike performance will be diminished and that the motorcyclist will not enjoy the trip or the ride due to the restrictions it causes. I have to say that the design of the trailers today offer excellent handling, capacity and maneuverability. In most cases, you won't even know the trailer is behind you.

I'm sure that once upon a time, the motorcycle touring trailer was nothing more than a platform on a solid axle with a car roof top carrier bolted to it. Well I'm glad I can say that I haven't experienced that. In researching our trailer we found that most trailers today have sophisticated suspensions, tubeless tires, lighted interiors, matching colors and the list goes on. All this new technology has made the hassle of pulling a trailer a thing of the past. This also means that you'll have some choices to make when purchasing a trailer, let's look at some.

Caring for a trailer is just as important as caring for your motorcycle. The trailer becomes an extension of your motorcycle and the performance of your trailer can affect your motorcycle in both a positive and negative way. Suspension, lighting, hardware and finish, all should be cared for and we'll talk in depth about some of the things that are important to servicing your trailer.

The performance of your bike and trailer is a big part of trailering, but no matter how well the trailer is maintained, 300 lbs of added weight behind you will affect the way you ride. We'll go over some of the different things you must do when pulling a trailer behind you. From braking to turning, all things are affected, some noticeable, some very subtle but you need to know all of them.

A motorcycle touring trailer provides tons of room to pack up everything and bring it all with you, but there are some things you should know about packing a trailer that will make your life and ride a lot easier. The way you pack can affect the bike performance and also the ease in which you pack and unpack each day.

The link between your bike and the trailer comes from the trailer hitch. Just like the trailer, the hitch can play a big factor in your travels. From safety and security to control and stability of the trailer, you'll want to make sure to get the best. Any skimping can cause real problems. Hitches come in different designs and types choosing one can be difficult so we'll take some of the guess work out of it.

We would never give up our motorcycle touring trailer. It has been one of the best accessories we've purchased and has given us our motorcycle freedom and allowed us to bring or get those extra things you like to have. We've never had to say, we can't do that because we don't have the room.
