I was on the road and my rear tire picked up a nail. Plugged it with those plugs that you can get from Wal-Mart (comes with glue). My mistake was I pumped air into the tire as soon as I finished plugging it. After riding for about 50 miles the plug came off. Luckily, I was stopped at the stoplight. Another lucky break, to my right was a tire repair shop at the side of the road. So I pushed my 800 lbs., 1600cc bike to the shop and asked if they can help me with my flat tire. The young man's first response was "we don't work on motorcycles." I then ask if he can just put a plug on it until I get to the next town. He agreed to help me. He put the plug with glue in the tire puncture and then he said to wait ten minutes to let the glue dry up before airing up the tire. I road home for another 400 miles with the plugged tire and did not loose any air on it. The tire was due to be changed probably in another 1500 - 2000 miles so I just left it instead of getting a new one. I then put "slime" into the tire to hopefully, help reinforce the plug. I probably put on another 300 miles more into this plugged tire before I decided to trade the bike for a new bike.
